It’s Never Too Late to…Review Your Year

As I look back on this past year, it’s been filled with growth, celebrations, achievements, courageous steps, new connections and many meaningful moments.

Here’s my past 12 months in summary:

January started with a wonderful trip to Albufeira, Portugal, despite an unexpected bout of COVID. It also marked the launch of my She Network and an inspiring International Women’s Day photoshoot. I also started volunteering at the Wolverhampton Literature Festival, delivered a Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway workshop and hosted the first in-person Wulfruna Book Club meeting.

In February, I achieved a major bucket list moment visiting CERN in Geneva for my son’s 20th birthday, and I took the bold step of quitting my day job and focusing full-time on my coaching business. Dee and I also visited Six by Nico for the first time, of many throughout the year.

March was all about celebrating International Women’s Day, with highlights including joining the UN Commission on the Status of Women as a delegate and delivering a keynote at Wolverhampton University. I attended many, many IWD events, saw Steven Bartlett in Birmingham and achieved a Double Distinction in my MBA EPA!

In April, I celebrated my birthday with a trip to Penzance, Cornwall, embraced a bold new look (bright pink hair!), and celebrated my daughter’s 16th birthday. I also joined a local charity as a strustee.

May was a month of garden projects, family celebrations. I had a wonderful time celebrating my son’s 23rd birthday with a trip to Stratford and a Gin Distillery. The month ended with a Nickleback Concert, Birmingham Pride and the Hay Festival.

June started by meeting one of my idols, Caitlin Moran, attending various events, including the Social Shared Women in Business COnference and High Vibe Live. However, the highlight of the month was my daughter finishing school and completing the last even school run!! Other events included the Girls Aloud concert, Edgbaston Tennis and a trip to Majorca to celebrate the end of Sofia’s GCSEs.

July was a month of achievements, including achieving Chartered Manager status, hosting TEDx Wolverhampton, and attending my MBA graduation, plus the Race for Life and several other events and celebrations.

In August, it was all about fun in the sun, celebrated family milestones, and enjoyed a trip to Devon with Dee to celebrate our 7th Wedding Anniversary. We also celebrated GCSE results day and my mum’s birthday.

September I launched the She Network membership and started recording my new podcast, "It's Never Too Late," We also celebrated Dee’s Birthday and my Sister’s Birthday around having a small operation. I was also delighted to see my friend Nina who visited from Canada.

October started with the Woman Who Solpreneur Awards (I didn’t win, but it was a great day) was filled with family birthdays, theatre trips, supporting my wife’s fundraiser and an annual Halloween trip with my sister. However, nit ended on a difficult note with my mum falling ill.

November included a wonderful trip to Prague, more theatre outings including the Nutcracker, and attending several networking events including the Holt Christmas Party and the MBCC Awards, where Dee was able to meet several of her idols. The month also included the finalisation of my new branding and a brand photoshoot.

December wrapped up the year with festive traditions, a speaking engagement at Andrea Rainsford’s Succeed event , and the celebration of Wolverhampton Grand Theatre’s 130th birthday with a special performance of the Beauty and the Beast pantomine.

It’s been a year of embracing change, celebrating achievements, and cherishing time with loved ones. I can’t wait to see what 2025 brings!!
